Welcome to Webworks Inter.net
Ever wonder why web design companies want to blow you away with technical presentations, bells and whistles and dog and pony shows to tell you how to have the prettiest web site in town, when all you really want is more business? Maybe we could put that another way ...
A web presence merely gives you another weapon in your daily fight to succeed. Pretty doesn't count, gee whiz doesn't count - all that counts is: "Does it work?"
What can we do for you?
- Design an effective web presence;
- Redesign or maintain your present site;
- Show you how to use the web to increase sales;
- Host your site; and
- Do this with lower cost and greater value.
If you want bells and whistles and dogs and ponies and all the other jazz that impresses nerds, you are frankly better off with someone else. If you're more interested in getting the job done in a timely and cost effective manner, we should talk now.
Why?
Why do I need a web site?
The only reason you need a web site is to communicate. If you have no need to talk to any other person, you probably don't need a presence on the World Wide Web. If you have a need to talk to others, then you will find that the WWW can communicate your message more intensely, quicker, more effectively, and to a greater extent than any other means of communication. Period.
How can this be, especially since the web is brand new?
The internet allows you to reach others by text, photographs, drawings and other graphics, voice, sound and music, animations, and video clips. It allows others to contact you in the same way. It does this instantaneously, everywhere on earth, at all times of the day and night. It is your untiring messenger, always ready at hand to tell others what you have to offer them.
What can it do for me?
Your web site will grow your business, increase your revenues, promote customer satisfaction, and allow you to operate with less advertising, administrative, and overhead costs. Very simply, it puts a massive amount of information in the hands of your market, and gives you the same advantage as to your suppliers and service providers.
What is that graphic on the bottom of your pages?
That is your guarantee that this web page conforms to the official HTML specification. Fewer than one percent of all web pages meet this standard, but we believe that our clients deserve nothing less than full conformance with the official standard, and we will not publish a page unless it validates as conforming one hundred percent to the HTML specification.

Pricing policy
The primary component of the cost of an internet presence is the cost of coding the web site. The more complex the site, the greater the cost - the simpler the site, the less the cost. Generally, the more extensive sites have more complexity and cost more, but not always. A large site may contain simply text and graphics, while a smaller site might offer sophisticated user features and require extended development.
Webworks Inter.net uses a price structure based on a unit price. We offer three levels of service, each comprising a total package. This way, you will not experience any surprises halfway through a project. In addition, we offer a la carte service, such as hosting, domain name registration, and e-commerce.
Level One - $500
Level one sites consist of four to six pages, with limited text and graphics. A level one site might consist of a company profile, a product listing, a staff introduction, a location map, and a contact or order form.
Level Two - $1,500
Level two sites consist of eight to ten pages, with expanded text and graphics. A level two site might feature a full description of product lines, personnel sketches, or different kinds of pages such as links, calendars, maps, or announcements.
Level Three - $2,500
Level three sites consist of twelve to twenty pages. Level three sites offer the opportunity for descriptions for different product lines, full explanations of services offered, galleries of completed projects, DHTML and JavaScript functionality, and more.
Custom Sites
We can also offer custom sites at an initial fee of $200 plus $150 per page for those desiring a greater or lesser degree of service. We will be happy to quote a web site as a package tailored to your specific needs.

Explanation of terms
A domain name registration lists your internet address ("URL" or "uniform resource locator") with a central computer, which allows that computer to direct a request for a web site to the server where the site is located. Return to the document.
E-commerce refers to a collection of capabilities, including the ability to encrypt and accept credit card transactions, the ability to compile user shopping carts and preferences, the acceptance of electronic customer orders, and the delivery of goods and services to the customer. Return to the document.
The internet comprises all the files on all the computers available on line. It presently has a size of several hundred million separate files. Return to the document.
Hosting refers to a computer ("server") connected to the internet 24 hours a day, on which a web site is located. When the host receives a request for a web page, it sends the page to the computer which requested the web page. Return to the document.
A page contains a collection of text, graphics, and other media, contained in one browser window. A page may be of any size, from a word or phrase or graphic, to an entire site. Generally, we consider the page to have reached its maximum practical size at 100K, including all embedded picture and sound files. Return to the document.
A web site consists of a collection of pages about a particular business, person, or subject, entered by an index or a home page, with each page being linked to the others so that the user may easily navigate through the entire site. Return to the document.
Why we do what we do.
Well, I guess I get to catch this one. Why don't you just hardcopy this page and read it sometime when you are clearing cobwebs. It's lousy web design ... way too much text and appeals to logic rather than throwing out an emotional hook. Bad marketing, wouldn't you say?
OK, look at me, I'm John Roper, and you want to know why I can relate to your challenges. For starters I founded a business in 1976 with little more than a dream and $4,000 cashed-in teacher retirement. In 10 years I built it to over $5,000,000 in annual sales the old fashioned way -- face to face personal service marketing, and a passion for quality service after the sale.
After a time, the business sent me to law school (I was tired of getting sued and paying for lawyers), and I practiced law 15 years. By 1995, the internet had revolutionized communication, and the whole way we served customers and clients had almost become unrecognizable by 1976 standards. I barely knew how to turn a computer on.
At this point, I realized that I was at the mercy of high priced geniuses that I didn't trust. After a couple of experiences of buying expensive hardware to run software that didn't do the job, I learned that I could do what I needed myself. And if I could do it for myself, I could help others who were having the same sort of experience.
Our market is folks who can see the wisdom of walking through open doors instead of trying to walk through walls. The men and women that we serve make their own travel reservations and empty their own wastebasket. They respond quickly to changes in their markets and customer preferences. They won't spend $5,000 if they know they can get what they need for $1,500...or $500.
Best of all, those who still think they're going to bust a hole in the wall by banging their heads against it will get wiser after a few bangeroo headaches. Then, they need to unscrew the mess created by people more interested in electronic wizardry rather than building a business. That invariably creates more opportunities for those of us who are interested in serving the customer rather than having the customer serve us.
Because ... the point is to give customers what they need. If we can't give you what you need, it won't help either of us. But if we can fill your need, it benefits everyone. So, if you are interested in marketing your product or service on the World Wide Web, or want an internet presence for another reason, give us a call, and we'll see how we can help you achieve your goals.
